Meet our Pastor
Bishop & Lady Adana Brown
Pastor John C. Brown is a lifelong member of the Amarillo, Texas Panhandle community. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1982 and later earned an Associate’s Degree in Auto, Life, and Health Insurance from Amarillo College. He has been a licensed insurance agent and owner of Brown Insurance since 1995.
At 19, Pastor Brown met his mentor, the late Bishop Horace Stacey II, under whom he received his ministry training and call. Bishop Stacey guided him into key roles, including Trustee and Youth Bible Class Teacher in 1984. Pastor Brown was ordained as an Elder in 1985 and later served 22 years as Assistant Pastor of Temple of Praise Community Church. Following Bishop Stacey’s passing in 2007, he became Senior Pastor. On July 19, 2014, he was ordained as a Bishop and continues to oversee ministries within the church.
Bishop Brown is a devoted servant of God, a faithful shepherd, and a man committed to advancing the Kingdom of God.
He was blessed to share many years of marriage and ministry with his beloved late wife, the former First Lady Dede Brown whose life, love, and faithfulness remain a cherished part of his testimony and legacy.
In God’s perfect timing, the Lord blessed Bishop Brown to enter into marriage in July 2018 with Adana B. Moore, a native of Selma, Alabama, and a woman of faith, grace, strength, and purpose. Their union began a new season marked by love, companionship, growth, and a shared commitment to God’s purpose.
Through this union First Lady Brown has embraced a deeper expression of ministry and service, with a growing relationship with God. She believes ministry is more than a title—it is a lifestyle of love, humility, encouragement, and service to others.
Today the two stand together serving others and growing in the purpose God has placed within them. Their testimony is a reminder that moving forward does not mean forgetting the past; it means trusting God with every season and faithfully embracing the new chapter he has written for them.
Their greatest desire is to live a life that honors God, strengthens others, and to reflect His grace wherever he leads. Servant-Leaders at heart committed to serving God, supporting the work of ministry, and walking in their purpose and the assignment God has entrusted unto them.
Throughout his ministry, Bishop Brown has dedicated himself to serving the Amarillo community through hospital visits, prayer, teaching, and pastoral care. His heart is to minister to the whole person; mind, body, soul, and spirit, while faithfully sowing into God’s people through the Word.
Supported by his seven children Kristie(Thomas), Marquito, Christopher(Chemika), Deziree’, Erick(J’Quoyia), Ayana and Aderick and eight grandchildren (Kiara, Bayleigh, Kadaisha, Kamarri, Genesis, Kaleb, Nariyah, and Jaxen. One great-grand Terrionna).
Bishop Brown remains committed to seeing God’s people walk in victory and experience the fullness of God’s promises.
Your humble servants,
Bishop John C. Brown & First Lady Adana Brown
